MAJOR INSIGHTS OF THE DAY
Subject – case on “The Team That Wasn’t”
Today, we learnt the importance of a teamwork based on the case “The Team That Wasn’t”. It is regarding the management team that failed repetitively on many occasions to reach the final consensus. One influential person either dominated the group’s discussion or showed no interest on the agenda being discussed in the meeting. Basically, there is no appreciation and acceptance from a person called Randy, Marketing Director, who is considered to be a prospective candidate for next CEO. As a result, all other divisional heads are de- motivated to put forward any suggestions and recommendations for the benefit of the organization because their ideas are dropped to the dust by a single influential person.
Yes, I agree that we should work in a team. A team should consistently work together to achieve higher common goals. However, it is important to remember that the team does not always consist the same person that we expect to have in the team. It is not uncommon to have such black sheep in any team or group. It is not exceptional to have one such person in our real work. It is bound to have different people with different thoughts and attitudes in any organization or work place. It is simple and easier to operate sophisticated complex equipment by following the written instructions than handling a human being with different attitudes and unique characters. Unlike equipment, there is no one formula to easily deal with human being.
In every day of our lives, be it with family, friends or in the work place, we listen and appreciate opinions of different people. It is important to have mutual respect in order to develop cooperation and coordination. At this juncture, a team work plays an important role to work together and collectively achieve higher result which cannot be done by a single person. One can have a group of superstars, but if they do not work well as one unit, chances success is very minimal. The team working as one cohesive unit is going to be the key in our success.

CHANGE
CHANGE
A change in organization is important to adapt the changing environment for the growth of the company. However, a change that is not suitable and applicable may bring adverse affect to the organization. Therefore, it is difficult to decide on what type of change is required and to what level the change is to be implemented. Resistance to change by the people in the organization is another core issue facing in organizations all over the world. A change does not happen by itself. It is definitely not an incidence. A lot of time and resources has to put in for bringing, no matter how small is the change. It is important to know that at what cost the change has to take place?

Emotional Bonding Engagement
Emotional Bonding Engagement
I feel that a gentle pat on my shoulder by my CEO as token of appreciation probably has a greater emotional attachment than getting 100 appreciation mails from him...
I truly believe in human values, sentiments, the emotions and the personal touch which keeps man moving and happy all the time. As a human being, we are constantly moving in search of love, affection etc. We can feel the sense of belongingness to the company, the love and attachment towards company through personal contact than by the modern concept so called "working from home". In the workplace, one feels neglected, rejected and dejected when your hard work and dedication is not accepted by the superior. Therefore, there is a great need of recognition and acceptance even if the work done is not significant. This acceptance will have a great impact for the person and will be highly motivated to work, contributing even more to the Organization.
Many of us felt that emotional bonding will be lost if there is no contact amongst employees.
